Throwin Picks Opening Night Recap

Well, opening night has come and now the pump is primed for what I'm sure will be an electrifying football Sunday. The picks were close with Stoddart and Schwab going 1-1, I as expected, went 0-2.

Here is our running records that will be updated after each game day. It will be displayed on the Throwin Picks page year-round

It was great to see football back on TV last night. The game went almost exactly how Stoddart and Schwab predicted though I was optimistic when Houston jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead, Patty Mahomes and company quickly changed the narrative, placed their foot on the back of Bill "Taco" O'Briens neck, and made him lick white dog poop. KC Covered easily however depending on what number you got your over bet in at you either won or lost by the dreaded half point.

Some Key Takeaways from Last Night

  • CEH looked good. Like REALLY good. There were some flashes of greatness there that show this kid is going to have a great year and anyone who used an early pick on him will be pleased. The only, and I mean ONLY thing I didn't like was that coming down the stretch he couldn't punch that last one in. I mean 3 times from the 1 and can't get home? Anyone who rostered Chubb last year knows what that's about
  • Patty Mahomes is a Dude. Enough Said
  • Watson looked good on the opening drive. He is getting rid of the ball a lot quicker than last year and seems to be going through his reads well. However then the rest of the game happened. Not sure if it was Bill's "run first" play calling or what but the wheels fell off the bus somewhere mid 2nd quarter. Thank god for garbage time.
  • Andy Reid's face shield was fogged up with his heavy "I need a Cheeseburger" breath something fierce.
  • It was nice to see David Johnson back in fantasy relevance but having 2 D Johnsons on the roster is something that is going to be a pain. One of these guys either needs to go on IR or get waived.

The rest of the Week 1 slate will be discussed and debated on the Throwin Picks Podcast. Tonight we will have FNG joining us to throw a few picks and I promise not to mess up the recording...again
