Once Upon a Time A Guy Left Oakland To Catch Touchdowns From Tom Brady…And It’s Happening Again

In the second season under Jon Gruden, two generational talents driven from the Oakland Raiders. Great start Chucky.

However, this is the 2nd time an All Pro Wide Receiver, who left their long time team to play with the Raiders, left to go catch balls from a guy named Tom up in New England.

Yes I’m talking about Randy Moss.

When Randy came to town, he had a troubled past (remember that “traffic incident”?), played underwhelming football with the Raiders (at least he gave it a try), and ended up with Bill and the boys up in Boston. If Bill and company can get AB to get in line and embrace the “Patriot Way” they will have one of the most dangerous receiving corps in the league. Might as well start the TB12 MVP Campain now.

But this could backfire….

I think the Patriots are above being derailed from locker room distractions. Look how fast they moved past having a wannabe Scar Face drug dealing murderer in their locker room. But Antonio Brown has been on another level. Freezing feet, helmet problems, and that whole thing where he called the GM a Cracker for giving him a fine for not showing up for contractually obligated team activities. AB has shown that he’s on another level of crazy and it will be interesting to see if “The Patriot Way” will sink into that CTE skull of his. Steeler fans everywhere are breathing a sigh of relief that they got a 3rd & 5th rounders and got him out of town before they had crazy 2.0 in the locker room.

If it blows up its only a 1 year deal and 24 Mil (15m + 9m signing bonus). Kraft probably has that in his couch cushions. But if it works you can count on another Super Bowl appearance, a pile of All Pro and Pro Bowl nods, and an old guy named Tom who will probably end up breaking a bunch of his old records (including oldest player to win MVP….again)
