Week 2 Recap
The week was a little rough all the way around. Injuries galore, games going the wrong way, and a few head-scratchers highlighted a sub-par week for the Throwin Picks Crew. Felt solid about the picks but sometimes the turf monster jumps up and tears the ligaments right out of your knees and your picks go straight down the toilet.
Again I led the way with an 11-8 record on the picks. Stoddart had a bloodbath of a day going 5-11 and Schwab wasn't too far behind going 8-13. A couple of games (like KC) had favorites that either laid an egg or just couldn't get going until it was too late to cover.
Things We Called Perfectly
Green Bay was exactly as we drew it up. Mr. Rodgers reminded us who the best QB in the NFC North was as he diced up the Lions. If Rodgers wasn't motivated enough there was a "Lions Leap in Lambeau" that im sure got the Packers a little hot and bothered and it was all down hill from there. Game, Set, Match Packers. Arizona and company handled their business along with the 49ers in pretty one sided matches that never had our bets in doubt however the 49ers may have lost their season with the title wave of injuries that smashed into their team. It will be interesting to see how they regroup moving forward.
Games We Missed By A Mile
KC came out flat. Almost reminded me of a certain West Cannan team that went out to the strip club the night before a game and just didnt have it. If you were fortunate enough to see our tweet we were able to get a live bet in for KC -1.5 and fired with both barrels to buy our way out of jail on this one. (another reason to follow us on twitter). New Orleans also left us a little confused getting thumped in Vegas by Gruden and the Raiders. Not sure if that was some angels in the endzone business with Al Davis getting the tribute before the game but the Raiders put NFL fans on notice that they are going to be a force. O-Line was giving Carr time and making holes for Jacobs you could drive a truck through. The Raiders looked great and will be getting serious looks the rest of the year.
