The Latest Crime In The NFL

I woke up this morning to the realization that there is a crime being committed in the NFL. A team making the playoffs is an accomplishment. For some coaches, making the playoffs can even keep them employed. It's an honor to be one of the teams with the privilege of competing for footballs highest prize. But the NFL is standing silent while a crime is being committed that challenges the integrity of the NFL playoffs....and it starts in the NFC East.

The NFC East

eagles
cowboys
wft
giants

Now the NFC East used to be a great conference with some of sports most celebrated rivalries but this year the NFC might as well stand for No Fucking Chance. I mean these teams hate each other with a passion, now as football fans we hate watching them with almost as much gusto.

Lets take a closer look at each one of these dumpster fire teams....

The Washington Football Team

Lets skip past the fact that these guys don't even have a name and get into the stats.

The WFT is 1-3 and is anything but productive with the ball. Through 4 games they are scoring 20 points per game while allowing 28 for a -8 point differential. They are T-14 in INTs at .8 per game, 2nd in fumbles per game at 2.2, and lose the turnover battle by an average of 1.7 per game. This was an uphill battle from the start and Ron Rivera definitely has some work to do but expectations were low to start with and any realistic fans certainly did not have playoffs on the mind.

The New York Giants

The injury bug bit these guys about as hard as possible when Saquon went down with a knee injury. He was the one bright spot on an otherwise unimpressive team that wasnt going anywhere besides sub .500.

The Giants are currently 0-4 on the season. Through 4 games they are only averaging 11 points per game while giving up 24 for an impressive -13 point differential. They are 5th in INTs per game at 1.2 and 9th in fumbles per game with 1.5. The Giants also lost the turnover battle by 1 per game. Their season went down with Saquon and anyone who has the under on their season-long win total prop is the only one that is happy to see the NY Giants this year.

The Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys had playoff hopes coming into the year and thanks to their disappointing division they still do.

One would never know it by looking at the Cowboys offensive production so far this year but they are currently 1-3. They are averaging over 550 yds of offense per game and scoring 31 points while doing it. However, they also give up more than 430 yds and 36 points per game for a -6 point differential. They also are turning the ball over and losing the TO battle by a staggering 2.7 per game. Kind of hard to win when you give the ball away that much. If the Cowboys keep playing games this way they are going to put Jerry in the grave.

The Philadelphia Eagles

Your current division leader...gross

These guys had high hopes for their team and have been about as underwhelming as it gets through 4 weeks. Carson can't get anything going and there is next to no support from their defense. They are giving up 27 points per game while only scoring 21 (- 6 point diff). Even when they do have the ball they can't wait to give it away. They lead the league with 2 INTs per game and are 3rd in fumbles per game with 2. Let's not forget that the only reason they are in 1st place right now is that they punted late in overtime and decided to PLAY FOR THE TIE. Who doesn't go for the win? The Eagles thats who.

So there you have it. 4 teams that are fighting it out for a playoff spot and a Division Championship, and a shot at the Super Bowl. The NFL should really nullify a playoff birth for .500 teams and below.

No winning record...NO PLAYOFFS!
